Asian stocks gain, led by oil producers

Asian stocks witnessed a positive trend on Wednesday, led by oil producers after rise in crude oil prices.
Cnooc, China`s biggest offshore oil producer, gained on higher oil proces and Catcher Technology Co. advanced after Goldman, Sachs & Co. upgraded the company`s shares.
Japanese benchmark index Nikkei dropped 19.64 points, or 0.14%, to end at 13,829.92.
Hong Kong`s index Hang Seng rose 101.99 points, or 3.64%, to settle at 2,905.01.
China`s Shanghai Composite climbed 42.60 points, or 1.54%, to finish at 2,803.02.
Taiwan`s Taiex index gained 116.94 points, or 1.51%, to end at 7,855.06.
Singapore`s Straits Times went up 24.46 points, or 0.83%, to end at 2,986.62.
South Korea`s KOSPI increased 6.95 points, or 0.41%, to end at 1,717.79.
